AKA is looking for an Associate Director of Social Media to lead our social team across strategy, execution, and delivery for some of the most exciting entertainment, cultural, and arts brands in the industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Serve as the creative, strategic, and operational thought leader for the social team, in collaboration with the Head of Content & Social.
- Directly handle strategy, execution, and delivery across select accounts.
- Develop and oversee content calendars, KPIs, and budgets aligned to client goals and audience insights.
- Serve as a strategic partner to clients, translating objectives into thoughtful, effective, and creative social plans.
- Help establish and evolve clear processes and best practices for social ideation, content creation, campaigns, and reporting.
- Manage junior members of the team as direct reports.
- Collaborate closely with Creative Studio and Content teams to deliver compelling, on-strategy content efficiently.
- Lead on new business pitches and business development from a social perspective.
- Contribute to the development of AKA’s broader social, digital, and influencer offerings, including templates and repeatable frameworks.
- Monitor social trends and platform changes, sharing insights and recommendations with internal teams and clients.
- 4-7 years professional experience in integrated or content marketing, social media, communications from a B2C perspective for entertainment, cultural or arts clients. Agency experience is a benefit.
- Passion for social media, including how influential different platforms can be in driving customer experience and desire.
- Knowledge in major and emerging social channels, specific rules of engagement for advertisers, and general platform policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, project management, presentation, cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to comfortably present to clients and senior executives, and the ability to relate social strategies and plans.
- Possess basic analytics experience, measuring campaign performance, and analyzing metrics to support overall social strategy.
- Passion for entertainment and the arts.
- Highly creative and can develop new ideas to be a leader in the industry.
The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $100,000 to $115,000 per year.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. A discretionary bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package.
