Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant is a full-time exempt position that is primarily based in New York City.

WHAT YOU’LL DO, (IN BRIEF): 

  • Coordinate accounting functions and programs
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports
  • Prepare revenue projects and forecasting expenditures
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and GL accounts
  • Assist with annual audit preparation
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Perform other accounting duties or support junior staff as required or assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2+ years of experience in general accounting.
  • Possesses a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills.
  • Possesses attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and reliably work independently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • A passion for entertainment and the arts.
  • Must have the ability to work in and around NYC.
  • Ability to maintain highest levels of confidentiality.
